Dr. Faye Lundergan, M.D., F.A.A.P., Pharm.D.

Dr. Faye graduated from the Stanford School of Medicine in 2000, and did her residency at Children’s Hospital and Research Center of Oakland. She left academia to pursue private practice in general pediatrics in Petaluma in 2004. She is Board Certified In Pediatrics, and a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a member of the AAP Sections on Asthma, Oral Health, and Obesity. She is also a member of the California and Sonoma County Medical Associations. She is on the medical staff of Petaluma Valley Hospital and Children’s Hospital and Research Center of Oakland.  While practicing in Petaluma, she has served as an instructor for Children’s Hospital, Touro University Medical School, and Samuel Merritt University Physician Assistant Program.

Dr. Faye believes it really does take a village to raise a child, which is why she is so proud to be practicing in Petaluma.  She believes that children are our most precious resource. She believes that medications should be used judiciously in the management of sick children, and likes to focus on keeping them healthy. She believes every child deserves healthy food, fresh air, a sense of value and purpose, and a whole lot of love.

Before attending medical school, Dr. Faye graduated from the UCSF School of Pharmacy in 1980 and went on to do a residency and fellowship in Pediatric Pharmacy at the University of Connecticut Health Center. She is a member of the Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society and became Board Certified in Nutrition Support Pharmacy. She has taught for both the UCSF and the University of the Pacific Schools of Pharmacy.  She has published and lectured nationally in the areas of pharmacokinetics, nutrition, “nutraceuticals”, and asthma management.

Dr. Faye has been a member of the Allergy and Asthma Network Mothers of Asthmatics association for over twenty-five years, and been both an Asthma Educator and Outreach Coordinator. She also has nearly twenty years of experience as Dr. Soccer Mom.

Dr. Faye has been married for over 36 years. She and her husband are the proud parents of a son who is a resident in Orthopedic Surgery at USC/LAC and a daughter who is a dental student at the University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry.

Awards

Each year, nearly 100 million patients across the U.S. access websites like Vitals, UCompareHealthCare, and Patients' Choice to provide feedback about experiences with their physicians. Only those physicians with near perfect overall and bedside manner scores, as voted by their patients, are selected for the Compassionate Doctor recognition. Of the nation's 870,000 active physicians, only 3% were accorded this honor in 2012. The Compassionate Doctor certification is part of the Patients' Choice recognition program, where patients rate and vote for their favorite doctors. Dr. Faye has been awarded through the American Registry:

  • 2012 Most Compassionate Doctor

  • 2011 Most Compassionate Doctor
